Stern, Hans

In 1937 the Jewish Stern family was forced to flee from Germany and moved to Brazil. Hans Stern was 17 and was immediately inspired by his new colourful homeland. He traveled the country and fell in love with the natural and mineral wealth. His love for and knowledge of coloured gemstones was the base of his succesfull jewellery empire which was founded in 1945 and nowadays spans over 150 stores and is present in 14 countries.
