Leersum, Emmy van

Emmy van Leersum (1930-1984) was married with Gijs Bakker and they also shared a studio in Utrecht in the 1960’s. For Emmy her jewels were not decorative status symbols but autonomous art objects to wear. She used traditional materials like gold but also plastics and aluminium and made combinations with fashion/clothes. Her work can be found in collections and museums worldwide.
