Belperron, Suzanne

Suzanne Belperron (1900-1983) is one of the most important designers for jewellery in the 20th century. Already when she was hired by the house of Boivin to become their main designer when she was only 19 years old, and later under her own name. Soon her talent was recognized and her designs appeared in magazines and was worn by celeberties. To recognise her work is something different because it is almost always unsigned: “My style is my signature” was one of her famous statements which is very true indeed.
