An eighteen carat yellow gold square ring set with an amethist. Signed Jean Dinh Van for Cartier, made in New York, ca 1960. Dinh Van has worked for Cartier for many years when he goes his own way and opens a gallery in Paris, filled with minimalist designs. Cartier always stayed in touch with the designer and in the 1960s Dinh Van works as an independant designer for their New York branch, this ring is an example of the result of the cooperation.
