Mellerio

On October 10, 1613 Maria de Medici grants Mellerio permission to trade in valuables. The family still has this official document and that makes it the oldest known family business worldwide. In 1815 a shop is opened in the Rue de la Paix in Paris. In this same street this family now still runs a jeweller store and produces high end jewellery.
