Jean Vendome amethyst necklace

An eighteen carat yellow gold necklace “Cravate” comprising a choker made of wire, at the front a cascade of ten hinged links, sloping towards the bottom, each set with a part of an amethyst stalactite disc, the crystals pointing upwards, the mounts at the front organically etched and randomly set with nineteen brilliant cut diamonds. With maker’s mark of Jean Vendome (Ohan Tuhdurian, 1930-2017), made in Paris, in 1967 in a series of five different editions. In original case Barbot.

Exhibited at the opening of galerie Jean-Claude Barbot in 1977-78. Depicted in ‘Jean Vendome, les Voyages Peécieux d’ un Créateur’ by Marlène Crégut-Ledué, page 160.
