Bvlgari ‘Stars & Stripes’ pendant

An eighteen carat yellow gold ‘Stars & Stripes’ heart pendant, one half inlayed with lapis lazuli which holds a brilliant cut diamond in the centre, the other half consisting of three lines of carved coral interspersed with lines of pavé set brilliant cut diamonds, on a choker collar, all signed Bvlgari, made in Italy in the early 1970’s.

The ‘Stars & Stripes’ collection was launched in the early 1970’s celebrating the opening of the first Bulgari boutique in New York. April 1972 Cher is portrayed for the American Vogue wearing ‘Stars & Stripes’ jewellery by famous fashion and portrait photographer Richard Avedon.
